Firm Overview

Richard Kopelman and Clint W. Sitton co-founded Kopelman Sitton Law Group with the singular goal of providing personalized, quality representation to those who unfortunately suffered catastrophic injuries and death, or the destruction or loss of property as the result of negligence or misconduct of others. After honing his skills by representing insurance companies and corporations for several years, Mr. Kopelman found his true calling was in representing injury victims, not insurance companies, corporations or those responsible for harming others.

In 1991, Mr. Kopelman went to work for an established Atlanta personal injury law firm, and five (5) years later, left to start his own law practice, where Richard continued to develop his skill as a trial attorney and gained recognition and respect in the legal community. KSLG limits its personal injury practice to catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases stemming from car, truck, motorcycle and bicycle accidents, medical malpractice, product liability and pharmaceutical liability litigation.

In 1983, after graduating from Emory University School of Law, Mr. Sitton was selected to serve as staff attorney for a well-respected trial court judge in Fulton County, Georgia. At the conclusion of that service, Clint spent the next nine years as an associate and partner in one of the leading law firms in the country in the representation of individuals injured as the result of exposure to toxins. Clint then opened his own practice and in 2010, co-founding Kopelman Sitton Law Group, LLC, with his longtime colleague and friend, Richard Kopelman. Throughout his career, Clint has obtained numerous million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients.

The firm’s tireless representation of its clients has earned KSLG the admiration of its clients and respect within the legal community, both with colleagues and adversaries, who understand and appreciate that we will go the extra mile to ensure that our clients receive full compensation, whether by jury verdict or settlement. Due to this reputation, many of our clients have been referred to the firm by attorneys from other law firms, including lawyers against whom we have tried cases. KSLG also has had the pleasure of representing persons who previously served as jurors in cases and later sought out our services, having witnessed first-hand our courtroom skills, and the professional and compassionate representation we provided to our clients.

Kopelman Sitton Law Group is “AV” rated – the highest rating attainable – in both legal ability and ethical standards, by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, an international publication that rates attorneys from more than 160 countries, of whom only approximately 21% attain an AV rating. In addition, Mr. Kopelman has gained national recognition as being one of a very small number of attorneys to win jury verdicts of $1 million or more, before reaching the age of 40. In keeping with the tradition of protecting “the little guy,” Mr. Kopelman and the firm gained statewide recognition and received national praise in having the Georgia Court of Appeals nullify an anti-privacy statute enacted by the Georgia Legislature as part of its anti-consumer Tort Reform legislation signed into law in 2005. In doing so, the firm ensured that private medical information would not fall into the hands of insurance companies, intent on denying injury victims the compensation they so desperately deserve.

Mr. Sitton has successfully argued several appeals before the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia helping to develop significant law benefitting individuals and small business owners whose property and livelihoods have been damaged by storm water run-off and raw sewage contamination. Clint’s work in this area has not only benefitted his clients, but has resulted in positive changes in the way storm water and sewage drainage issues are handled in the metro Atlanta area.

The firm also has been recognized by the Fulton County Daily Report for its achievement in securing “top verdicts/settlements” on behalf of its clients. Additionally, the firm is well-respected for its work in multi-district pharmaceutical and medical device litigation in Georgia and across the country, including involvement in Fosamax, DePuy hip, Smith & Nephew hip, Avandia, NFL Concussion Litigation, Vioxx, Guidant pacemaker/defibrillators, Re-Nu Contact Lens Solution, Fen-Phen, Rezulin, Baycol, PPA, Propulsid, and Reglan.
